E2 Home
Input data is related specifically to the component models and methods selected in setting up an E2 scenario. Typically, input data consists of climate, topography, land use and management practices.
More information about file formats for E2 can be found in the Toolkit Data Files guide.
The predictions produced by an E2 integrated catchment model depend on the component models selected for that project. Example outputs include flow and constituent loads, as time series charts for particular sub-catchments, nodes or links, or catchment maps of load. There are a broad range of choices, and sub-sets of outputs, such as for a single sub-catchment, can be selected if required.
Users need to be aware that outputs generated by WaterCAST are NOT automatically saved when the overall project is saved. Users need to save each output manually to their computer. This means that every time a project is opened the outputs need to be generated again by running each scenario in WaterCAST.
E2 should only be used by experienced catchment modellers, who understands the data requirements, detail and applicability of component models, and the implications of joining them together.
It is highly recommended that potential users attend an E2 training course, so as to become familiar with both the concepts and operation of E2.
E2 embodies a new approach to catchment modelling that requires not only a new way of thinking about model construction, but also a new way of thinking about catchment management problems and solutions. Limitations include:
